Todd Watts Acoustic
Iota
Opening: Recovery

I was there. Todd did a two-hour set, accompanied at times by Erik, Dave the accordion dude, and Scotty (who is always smiling. He is one happy dude).
Todd was in great spirits--joking how you don't need a license to be a father, ya just become one. He was beaming. He sounded great too. Lots of great covers. Also lots of emmet favs including: Boston (love that, w/ Erik singing backup), Bullet, River, Motorway, and some more obscure stuff like South Bristol, ME. Ended on a high note w/ John Prine's Mailman Song.
Although I LOVE that club, that wasn't the best venue for Todd. Acoustics rocked but a good part of the crowd wasn't paying attention; talking over what to them was probably just a bunch of acoustic guys. There were more loud, obnoxious people there than usual. At least the loud people at TTs are all big emmet fans.
Overall, though, a great show. Hearing Todd's voice, as always, makes me melt and I hope they do another gig soon.
